Kerry, Guns and American Hospitality to UK Visitors

Driving down the highway after Kerry’s week at National Guard duty, he spotted a stranded car a few miles outside of Cheyenne. Always the Good Samaritan, he decided to turn around and see if they needed help.
Turns out they had just run out of gas (how were they to know that there is nothing on 85) and were waiting for a friend to help them. During his short inquiry with the accented couple he discovered they were from the United Kingdom. They were heading up to the mountains for a “holiday.” Kerry knew he could be back a manner of minutes with a full gas can.
Kerry quickly went back to Cheyenne and returned to the couple with a filled can of gas. Always the gracious host, Kerry quickly offered this couple a cool adult beverages. The couple politely, as British people are, turned Kerry down but a voice piped up from the backseat saying, “I’ll have one!” There was a friend in the backseat who couldn’t turn down Kerry’s offer.
After a bit of chatting and they found out that Kerry was just heading home from Guards. Kerry, dressed in camo, mentioned his arms were with him. The woman at one point exclaimed, “I’ve never even seen a gun!” Guns are banned in the UK. Even the police do not carry guns. Always the instructor, Kerry asked them if they wanted to shoot his gun. Again, at first politely declining his offer, the same voice that piped up before piped up again, accepting.
Kerry took his new friends to a safe pasture (it’s all pasture around HWY 85) and let this man hold his Seekins Precision SP15, a large gun for someone who has never seen a gun. He then proceeded to set up the Seekins Precision SP15 and let his friend shoot off a couple rounds. They were a bit startled at how loud and powerful the gun was but Kerry believes they had a good time. Shortly after this, Kerry’s new friends resumed their journey to the mountains and Kerry came on home.
Now, imagine you were a foreigner in our country. Imagine you ran out of gas in the middle of nowhere. Now imagine the person who comes to your aid is a man wearing a muscle shirt, straw hat, camo shorts, and Crocs. Every foreigner’s stereotype of Americans would be coming true. This is exactly how Kerry came to this British group’s aid.
This is why we love our very own Kerry Wyatt. Only he can be a Good Samaritan, a kind host, and a lovable instructor all the while fulfilling every American stereotype. That’s why we keep him around, even if it is just for the stories. You just can’t make this stuff up.
