Christmas at the Colorado Model Railroad Museum
I have been looking forward to this post since we started partnering with the Colorado Model Railroad Museum (CMRM) for our Charity of the Quarter. Christmas and trains make a perfect union with each other and has enamored young hearts for years. Why do we put toy trains around our Christmas tree? How long has the Polar Express captivated readers and more recently, movie goers? Even the Coca Cola Santa played with a toy train at one point.
So why are trains and Christmas so perfect for each other? One suggestion is, Christmas represents a time of heading home and enjoying the season with family. For the longest time, going home meant taking a train back to where you came from.
This month, CMRM has decorated their museum for the most wonderful time of the year. And we wanted to share how our Charity of the Quarter celebrates Christmas.
CMRM had a Night Trains with Santa event. Surprisingly, they had 816 guests come in attendance! It must have been the perfect union of Christmas and trains that drew the crowds. Excited children, ready to meet Santa, waited in line for over an hour just to jump in his lap, give him a hug, and tell their Christmas secret wish list. Next year they will make it into 3 day event.
Here are more photos of the wondrous Christmas display at the Colorado Model Railroad Museum. Imagine being transported back 100 years ago, traveling by train to go home. Let the nostalgia take over and lose yourself to the magic of Christmas and how it makes everything bright!
Charity of the Quarter Referral Program
Remember, any referral we receive from you, we will donate $5 to the Colorado Model Railroad Museum per referral. They do not have to purchase a policy to be counted for the donation.
