The Password Trick Too Many Pass Up

When it comes to your online passwords, from Facebook to your bank, it always boils down to the catch 22:

Make one that’s easy to remember
Or make one that’s hard to hack.

I used to sit forever to try and come up with some convoluted combination of letters, numbers, and special characters for my banking, only to have the work go to waste next week when I can’t remember the password I’ve created!

Believe it or not, there is a way to have both a secure password and a password you’ll remember, and it will be a big relief off your chest.

According to USAA’s Executive Director Victor Diaz – The key is to think length rather than complexity.

Longer passwords of at least 10 characters make it harder for hackers to crack your code.

How do you make such a long password easy to remember?

Think song lyrics, movie quotes, or lines from poems!

Other tips include:

  • Don’t rely on special characters
  • Don’t use the same password for all of your accounts
  • Use a Password Safe program

Do you think this trick would work for you? Do you have an idea for a blog post? Let us know in the comments below.

And don’t forget to share this new trick with your friends on Facebook!
